Working on the T with my 15 year old daughter
So we are putting in the valves on the Model T. The spring compressor kept falling off the spring and I decided to compress the spring with my hands with my arms around Angie's head so she could see where to put the pin in to hold the spring. Then she calmly says: "So what are we going to tell the emergency room Doctor?"

Re: Working on the T with my 15 year old daughter
SHE"S A KEEPER!!!!!!! bringing her up the right way..
I taught my daughter to look after her 1st car. she checked the oil and coolant, tire pressure and kept track of her mileage every Sunday morning and kept the details in a small book in the glove box. She changed her own oil and filter for a number of years. Got a call one day when she was away at Med school. One of her guy pals had a honda and she was going to change his spark plugs as she determined he had a miss. Her call was to ask how tight to make the spark plugs. I told her and also mentioned to mark the plug wires, her response was "DAD!! I already did that. And yes she's a keeper as well, now she sews people up after their trauma.
proud dad,

Re: Working on the T with my 15 year old daughter
She's one lucky young lady - some of my best memories is of working with my Dad in the garage and in the pits at the
race track. Got grease under my nails now - just put the engine back into the 22 Coupe.

Thanks Kathy, She'll learn all that girly stuff anyway. Right now I look at it as my job to teach her to have the confidence to tackle anything that life throws at her.

Ding!
Rob nails it again!
Have a similar Dot that's near 30, if she runs into a bind she'll ask but changing a headlight in her truck?
She looked on the tube and did it herself. I like that.
Kathy, at the race track? Cool.

ON LINE TUTORIALS
On line tutorials are good for old farts too. I have used them a lot. used one to repair a instrument gauge digital cluster led illuminator in a 2000 century. $600 + factory fix a three hour shade tree job and $2.00 worth of radio shack replacement resistors. originals had fallen out of the circuit board when the solder crystalized over years of heating and cooling.
