Would you agree the Model T Ford has a pleasant expression on its face ? OK, I'm a little weird I'll admit, but ever since automobiles began to sport a pair of headlight "eyes", head-on views of all makes and models have provided the imaginative with images of physiognomies that present many various expressions.
Driving home this afternoon, I couldn't help noticing how the current crop of late model vehicles all look either angry or threatening . . . I think this contributes to inconsiderate driving and road rage. Kind of a "my car can beat up your car" competition of expressions. It can't help but add to the tensions of driving in traffic.
Newer cars have been becoming increasingly ugly for many years, but incredible as it may seem, the newest offerings seem to prove the limit has not yet been reached. I suppose this is a reflection of ugly landscapes. Interminable acres of asphalt and concrete.

Interesting thought, maybe a reflection on modern society at large?I couldn't help noticing how the current crop of late model vehicles all look either angry or threatening . . .

It's an interesting thought Rich. I've also noticed that "angry" look. Unfortunately, the most angry looking vehicles seem to be driven by drivers with matching personalities.

The End came in 1970, when U.S. automakers decided to stop making cars
in the sense they had made them up to that point, and began making ugly
mobility machines. Each year since, they try to make their offerings just a
little bit uglier than the year before. Who here remembers being really
excited to go see the new car unveilings each year ? Yeah, ... that pretty
much was over by 1970.

I remember when the Kia Soul came out,the commercials showed some Hamsters "driving" washing machines and cardboard boxes down the road and then the Kia comes along with it's blinking speakers and the 4 hamsters bobbing their heads to some strange beat. Not to fond of the Kia but I thought that commercial purty much summed up modern cars looks and the attitude of most owners. A car is a appliance now,not a symbol of your success or indicater of your abiltys.
