Stick handle for a lincwelder ac-225-s?
Hey, I found a lincwelder ac-225-s on the curb. See the picture for the stick holder that is missing the top part. Can the top part be purchased or do I have to replace the whole stick holder handle?

Should be able to purchase entire stick holder at your local farm store pretty cheap. Good score.

Are these standard? I've never owned a stick welder before. Also the clamp is missing is that generic as well?

Are you sure this is part of a stick holder? It looks like the male half of a cable connector, used for coupling additional lengths of welding cable...try putting 'TWECO cable connector' in a Google search and I think you'll see what you've got there. Regards, Jack

It could be. I've never had one of these before. So I can get a female adaptor and add an additional length of cable then I hope. Is it 2 gauge or 4 gauge wire that these usually use?

I looked at the fine print and sure enough it is a Tweco cable connector!

cables look to be cracked a bit.Wrap with tape .
Those are tough machines.Shouldn't be much if anything wrong with it other than missing the leads. That is a Tweco quick connect, should be able to get the other end of that pair at any decent welding supply store.Ground clamps,Harbor freights work fine.Should even be able to get the stick holder there as well. Cables are the most exspensive part.
Show the whole machine and maby we can tell more about what is missing.

See the picture. It is heavy. The rheostat dial is stuck so I am probably going to have to take it apart and figure out why. I have some wide and long enough heat shrink wrap that I was going to cover the cable cracks with. Harbor Freight is a good idea I will try them.

I don't recall seeing a quick release on the rod holder on those Lincoln's, just direct connection. So maybe don't be looking for something to fit what is there or check eBay.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

It may have been retrofitted with the Tweco. The cables are relatively short.

Re: Stick handle for a lincwelder ac-225-s?
I got back to seeing if I can get it working again. I opened it up, it had rats nests and crud. I blew out all the crud with a leaf blower and wire brushed the rest of the rodent mess out. I tried plugging it in with the covers opened, something went fritz smelled a little burnt now it won't do anything but I have no idea if it was working at all before. I was able to free up the welding power dial switch. No fan, nothing. For what it is worth here are some pictures of the insides. What should I do? Are these worth repairing?

Glad to hear you finally got it going. Good things come to those who are willing to wait.
