What are these clamps used for?

Post by Ken Lefeber » Mon Jul 12, 2021 12:09 pm

I saw these clamps at the Iola Car Show and Swap Meet last week.
The clamp pivots around the slotted head screw.
Does anybody know what they are used for?

Those look like Rich Bingham's training stirrups missing the stirrup strap leather. He would put his boot in the stirrup and tighten down the thumb screw to keep from falling off his horse!

If I had to guess (and that's all this is) I would say that they fit on the top of a wooden ladder for when you are painting, the pointed part would leave just a tiny mark in the fresh paint. Jim
