68 F100 value
I have been offered this 68 F100. It is a 6cyl 3 speed 74000 miles. Looks like original paint and is very nice. Any ideas of what a fair price would be? The owner is 92 and I want to be fair. Thanks, Art

Re: 68 F100 value
Does it have overdrive? Is it a 240 six or a 300 six? Any rust? What condition is the rubber around the windows and windshield in? It has no ps, no pb.... clean, original type wheel covers... has a 6, 3 speed stick... radio... any a/c? I'd buy at 10 to 13 K if it's as nice as it looks. Some people would not like the stick, the 6, and the steamboat steering. (Wouldn't bother me) Some people fear drum brakes. (I don't) That truck would move pretty good with a 300 6 and a 3:73 axle... some paint damage due to overfilled fuel tank...

No A/C, no overdrive does have a AM radio. It is a 240, no power steering or brakes but does have the chrome plated repro ahooga horn. There is no rust and does not appear to be repainted. It is very clean. Art

Tell the Seller you can’t buy & sell it at the same time.
Ask the Seller what they would be comfortable with
as far as price - that is fair.
Everyone knows what they want for something they
are selling or buying.

Re: 68 F100 value
I thought it was about a 9500.00 truck but it sold yesterday for 13000.00 The owner, 88 years old, originally came to me asking to sell it for him trusting whatever I told him it was worth. He would have taken my offer if I had made it but it didn't feel right and I thought it was taking advantage of his trust so I listed it on Facebook Marketplace for 13500.00 and sold it in less than a day. I would not have paid that much. Art

Clean older trucks are hot. I hope whoever bought this one appreciates it and does not gut it, slam it, and paint it pink.

Re: 68 F100 value
It looks to be in exceptional condition. Here's another way to look at it - suppose it's 1962, and you had found a 1909 Model T in that condition ?
Another thought about relative values - that pickup probably sold new for about $3200. Adjusted for inflation, about $25,000. today.
