Funny, I've heard lots of stereotypes of various nationalities, but I don't recall anything about Italians and soldering....

I think it is fantastic that you are teaching her the different trades and that she wants to learn them.
I have a friend who is a plumber and whose young daughter would come to work with him and would clean parts, flux, hand him tools etc. and then one day I saw her soldering the joints. I worked with another fellow who owns an excavating business and his daughter dug ditches by hand, ran the skid steer, drove truck and many other chores. I missed her when she went off to college, she worked harder than most of the other crew.
I enjoy your threads and how you work together on the cars.

How old is she? When she gets a bit older, she might get other interests, so enjoy it now. And the good thing is that when she gets older she will have "A trade to fall back on." as they used to say when I was young.

Norman, She is 17 now getting ready to head off to college soon. I've been having her do anything that I would do. She loves being able to do things that most kids can't You should see the smile when she drives a stick. Ha!!

With the skills like your daughter has, she might intimidate some insecure young men. But for the right kind of guys who are secure in their own skins, she will be irresistible.
We have one daughter-in-law who was raised on a farm. She will tackle (and succeed) in just about anything that comes along. We cherish her.

I am sure her workmanship is A.S.N. quality. (At-Sa-Nicea)
From another Italian who taught his two daughter to use tools.
