Here we go again, heading to look at another machine, this time a 1913 Hupmobile Model 32 Runabout. Looking for anyone familiar with Hupmobile Model 32's and their potential needs. This one appears to have been restored, but it has a "mother-in-law" seat in back. Maybe it started life as a touring?

There is a lot of early Hupmobile ad copy at www.oldcaradvertising.com A Model 32 roadster is described as a 2 passenger vehicle.

Thanks for including us in another adventure. I can't help with this one but remember one resurrected from the hills by a friend in the '60s. It was a basket case, and I didn't take pictures, but oh how fascinating it was at the time.

TXGOAT, thank you for that link, I liked seeing that ad! I haven't found any evidence for the in-law seat for Hupp 32's which is why I think it was converted later. Attached is a photo of the car, Dad said he thinks it's ugly and bug-eyed, he said the Edsel was ugly too but he still went with me to pick it up.

Rich, I always enjoy hearing your stories and imagining those adventures. Things like that inspire me to have my own adventures.

The headlamps are certainly prominent, but that is often seeen in pre-1920 cars, including the high end ones. The Hupmobile advertising really went posh in the mid to late 1920s. I believe one color ad stated that the roadster was on the same wheelbase as the touring car.

Hupmobile didn't work out, needed a few more things than I am currently ready to give it. I know it's next caretaker will be glad I didn't take it though. Tune in next week for "What Junk Did He Find Now?"

Another 1916, it’s near identical to yours and mine, a touring. Photo is from the 80’s, before my time.

"Near identical" Yes. A bit of trivia, the early radiator shells had a neck piece fixed to it. They must have decided it wasn't needed sometime later. Mine has it and are the photos with the red smudge. (Center)
The survival of the emblem is interesting too.
