Pedal Cars

I wanted to share the following article in the local newspaper with you. Stu's work is fabulous using everything from old pianos (great wood), bean tins to teapot lids, his motto is to find junk or pay as little as possible:

They come complete with gearboxes and some have moving engines. Radiators are covered with nylon wind netting sprayed black and in the case of the Darraq racing car, even comes with dead flies on the grille ;-)

The racing cars (Darraq and I forget the Green car) have moving engines and valve trains powered off the gearbox when the cars are pedalled.

Some characters do miraculous things, don't they?
Thanks for sharing this.

I could not find a picture, but Stu's 1930's Miller front wheel drive racer was a work of art too. It came complete with working front wheel drive :-)

Thanks Eric - to think I live here and did not know the ODT was linked to our local newspaper!

St's aluminium panel work on his Dusenberg and its wooden boat tail are works of art in themselves.

Cheers
Adrian

Such an interesting car. I made a similar car with my son, and used pedals for bikes https://www.bikethesites.com/pedals-for-gravel-bike/ they fit well.
