Just when we may think an engine is beyond salvage, someone takes the time and effort to prove us wrong! Some frustration, but there are some helpful hints here, which I'm sure could answer some questions. The video is about 8:46 minutes long.

Alot I would have done differently,but all of us can say that when we watch video's like this. They were trying to show different things and how they could work.
First things first, you clean the cylinder, by media blasting or similar. Then select 1 penetrating oil,the best you have available ,use it first.,If you squirt wd-40 in there first,nothing else will get by it to work.I would like to know what type of bit was in the air hammer as it did not appear to damage the pistons.

Cast iron pistons are a lot tougher!

A freind of mine gave me a bunch of stuff last week from a machine shop, in it was a block of plastic material that is real tough. I think i will cut out a hockey puck of sorts the size of the cylinder of whatever engine I am working on in the future to use with a blunt air hammer bit. 1 inch thick material, kinda like a chopping block. should adsorb the damaging portion of the wack and still transfer the vibration.
