Yes they are blue. Mother looks to me to be a generic sized bird. I am not an ornithologist obviously.

Re: OT: Birds nest with eggs.
Nice photo! That looks like it might be a song sparrow nest. They have a beautiful song, and are lively little buggers. There is a downside to them, though. They will attack other bird nests and destroy the eggs and any chicks. They will also actively kill other adult birds. They can produce 4 to 5 clutches each year here in Pennsylvania with 4 to 5 eggs in each clutch. The end result is gobs of sparrows and no other song birds. Then they start hammering on your windows and decorating your window sills. If you are having problems with them getting rid of them is difficult, they don't stay still for more than a second. If this is happening to you, and you figure out an economical solution, by all means please let me know. Got to go, one is banging to get in right now! Cheers, Bill

Oh, baby birds. No wonder they grow so fast! They hatch as all mouth and stomach.

-Hey, Wayne-
We've all met people like that.... What you're not seeing is what they leave behind! Maybe that is why they move out?

Re: OT: Birds nest with eggs.
We went to church and the developed chicks were still in their nest. We came home and the nest was empty.
