The Dark Side.

I found a barn find modern. 1928 Model A RPU. I have had my eye on this for a few years. They are still out there . It once belonged to my uncle Bill Landers. The gentleman lost his storage and wanted me to have it. I paid $15 for it. Its not a peach but I have a soft spot for trucks as you may know.

It sat in a concrete block building since the 80's. The roof leaked for at least 25 years. It was like a rain forest. I found it when I put a truss roof on this building a few years ago. It was a running truck when parked. It was to be a retirement project for this gentleman. Life happened and he is now 80 yrs old.

I think it found a good home. I have been considering getting an A. I am also not immune to the lure of the dark side.

The front tire on driver side still has air in the tube . I have the tread for the other. She is a peach.

Dark Side my @$$. The A makes a great addition to a collection of T's. Nice pickup!

I’m on board! Love all those trucks between 26 and 29!

Personally, I think the 28/29 CCPU is one of best looking Fords of all time and the roadster PU with its roof in place, or removed, just meets in the middle of the T pickup and later closed cab.

This black one I helped my buddy rebuild for his neighbors 80th birthday last year. It was him and his brothers high school whip and they stored it since then. Started a little bit nicer than yours but not much…
Now, the really, really dark side. Seen here in rough mock-up, is the channeled closed cab with small block, T5, 9inch and sectioned AA express bed…

This truck had a tree grown through the floor and you could read a newspaper through some of the sheet metal, so not a great candidate for restoration but certainly enough left to make a hot rod. Just have to decide on a color…Good luck with the project! Any issues, questions or parts just contact the fellas at Berts’ model A in Denver, they usually have several pickups in there at a time and are very knowledgeable about the subtleties.
