Like last year I'll be posting pictures of the air show. If anyone else is going to the show feel free to use this topic to post your pictures for everyone to see! I am fortunate enough to be able to stay most of the week so I hope to get a variety of pictures. As long as the phone and the form cooperate so I can post them....

I do like warbirds more than anything so the majority will be warbirds.
Yes, the yellow airplane is supposed to be on its nose like that. Certainly does look funny!

Some more. Shiny t 34, b 29, striped stearman...
This year there is no B 17. Not even one to give rides this year. Supposed to be having an Avro Lancaster in a few days, not to give rides though.

Thanks for posting these again, Austin. I've said before that I'd love to go there. Now that I'm retired, I have no excuse.
One picture looks like a BT-13 trainer. My dad flew one or something similar to train bombadiers in Midland Texas in the Army Air Corps circa 1944. When on R and R, he would fly home to St Louis. Before landing at Lambert, he would buzz his parents house and Grandma would run out in the front yard waving a dishtowel.

Day two was rainy but still enjoyable. They are multiple bt13s and BT 19 at the show this year. They look quite a bit like a Texan. Thank you for the story John M

Heratige flights, and jets.
The Lancaster arrived today, but i was a bit late to see it come in...

The 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings had a memorial flight with three c-47s. They were going to do a parachute drop but I think the ceiling was too low...
Also an aerobatic twin beech.

Lots of Mustangs like always. Early and late Mustang differences. The enclosed is an early Mustang and the bubble top is a late p-51k variant.

C47 fly over in the honor of the 80th anniversary of d-day. They had a parachute drop. Very humbling! Cannot imagine doing that in the middle of the night under enemy fire!

To start off the night air show on Wednesday evening was a very rare sight. Both of the only airworthy b-29s in the world Doc and Fifi were joined by one of only two airworthy Avro Lancasters in the world for a flyover. I didn't get any better pictures of the actual flyover because I was busy watching it myself. It may never happen again...

Both of the world's only two flying B-29s. Fifi came into land after the flyover and Doc went back to Appleton to give rides. For a pretty penny you can fly on the B-29.
This is only the fourth time in 50 years that two b-29s have flown together. The last three were back in 2017 and 2018 right after the restoration of Doc was completed.

And then of course to wake you up for the evening the Air Force did there fighter jet demo. They certainly are loud! Then the previously known as the AeroShell aerobatic team, now the Titan aerobatic team followed by an unknown airplane with pyrotechnics and fireworks. Better make sure those fuel lines are sealed! They said that each airplane holds 200 to 300 lb worth of pyrotechnics! Certainly I wonder how that changes the handling of an airplane in the middle of an aerobatic maneuver!

More unknown airplanes and fireworks during the night air show. It makes one wonder how you keep your orientation during such maneuvers...

And then the fireworks. Very large. Very impressive. And I'm sure very expensive. This year they had roughly 300 drones that must have been pre-programmed and they flew up and made many fascinating designs and pictures.

There had to be explosions again this year too. You can feel the heat from them all the way back where we were watching the show.

The ending fireworks and even an American flag!
If you ever come to the show and watch the night air show, be prepared to wait a very long time if you park in general parking. Last year we waited until 2:00 a.m. to get out of the parking lot! Luckily this year it wasn't as bad. I got to park in warbird lot and beat most of the crowd. In other places the traffic was jammed for hours.

The B-29 giving rides. T 33s. I made my way down to the vintage area. The show wouldn't be complete without the sound of the tri-motor every half hour. There is only one going this year. The contract for the second ran out.

Something important to note about the Lancaster is, THERE IS ONLY ONE PILOT'S SEAT. That guy flies the ENTIRE mission, without a break or swapover on who's flying.
The biplane you mention has a jet engine mounted on it. Probably the first time a jet engine ever was put on a biplane.

That bi-plane was really something. I wonder what they had to do to it to hold the extra power...
The A 26 is the same as the Lancaster, being it has one pilot. I've got.more pictures. I'll be posting them soon...

More warbirds. Tried taking some.panoramic shots. Oshkosh is too big!
P 47s and Helldiver, very rare bunch.
These 2 stearmans are rare pre production models. No parts are compatible with production models! Everything is different.

Sunset. Its the best part of the show in my opinion. Hardly anyone stays very long after the daily airshow. Your almost by yourself. Walking amongst the warbirda as the sun goes down and the American flags flapping in the breeze.

Misc. Lotssss of walking...
The ford expedition camper STARTS at $800k.... Wont be getting one of those..
The jet is an F35. If you get too close to the nose, its roped off, the guards are authorized to shoot to kill...

B 29 doc. Money well spent to tour the front half. Costs at least 12k per hour to operate... the b 17 is 90k for insurance PER MONTH! one can oly imagine for the b 29...
The small engine is the putt putt. That is what was responsible for burning down the b 29 keebird. They were going to fly it out of greenland and was taxiing when the fuel tank spilled on the engine and burned it down. Brand new engines and rare propellers along with a poyential.3rd airworthy airframe were lost. One man passed away while.working to get it going. Look up NOVA b 29 keebird frozen in time.
I was talking to one of the crew members and they said that they're in the process of getting an extra airworthy set of props, currently they have none. They are REALLY REALLY RARE. so if anyone has any spare airworthy B 29 props hanging around...

Fifi the B 29 has one set. Only 3 to 4 sets in the world! (Not including museum quality sets)

Oshkosh was good this year, but it's too bad that Ford isn't a major sponsor any more, because there are no Model T's from the nearby clubs giving rides any more!
It was good to see two B-29's flying. I live just east of Wichita and often see Doc out flying. When I hear multiple radial engines, I know that it's either several Stearman's flying in formation from the nearby Stearman field, or it's Doc.
Hard to believe it is almost more common to see a B-29 flying than a B-17. The EAA's B-17 needs major spar rework before it can fly again.

Glad you were able to make it! Yes it is really weird to see more b-29s flying then b17s. Right now there are only two or three in the world that are continually flying. There are three or four in restoration in various stages to become airworthy. EAA B17 needs secondary Wing spar attachment work. The kicker is they have genuine World War II parts that would work but not all the paperwork to make them airworthy. So they have to make new tooling so they can make new ones.

Grumman twin engine flexing its wings. There was a crash on the runway so they had to come back and shut down. Meanwhile a b 25, mustang, and some others were waiting to land. This was the last day I was at the show. I stayed late and enjoyed walking around without a million people everywhere.
