I plan to post pictures of things I can not identify on this thread, hopefully someone will know what they are.

If you have something unusual please do not hesitate to post a picture of it on this thread.

These look like a big pair of scissors, about 40" long:

Bend at the end of the handles suggests a blacksmith's tool. Can you post a closeup of the jaws, slightly open ? (Should be a fun thread Tom !)

They are rusted shut. I have added a penetrant and they should open eventually.

That tool looks like what our half blind cross eyed minister uses for circumcisions at the church. In more ways then one we have less men in church now.

It is called bench shears and is a blacksmith tool, the long arm where it turns down goes into the hardy hole on the anvil and is for shearing sheet metal. They work pretty good altho most have a piece broken out of the cutting surface where someone has tried to cut round or square stock.

I believe the one above is what is left from a piece of harness that goes over the horse back.

Herb nailed it. Missing one rein loop, it would have been sewn into the "saddle" and surcingle.

The item with the wood drill bit on the end is for drilling a bung hole in a wooden barrel. It makes a tapered hole that a tapered plug can be hammered into.
