Old still works.
My buddy is 76 and still works every day. He is repairing a 160 ton press. He needed to turn a brass bushing and his lathe was too small. He asked if he could use my old Rockford belt drive. Hoe could I refuse since he gave it to me. Had a great day learning tips and tricks and visiting with him in the shop. A couple shots of it in action.
And to think this machine was headed for scrap when he saved it. It sat in storage for 15 years till I put it to use. These old machines are great.-

So icky and messy ! Isn't there an app for doing this, so we don't have to ?
When will this self-reliant, industrious, skill stuff ever end ?

GR , would you beleve a 76 year old buddy and I moved it from his building by jacking it up, put it on dollies and rolled it about a hundred ft to the door where we loaded it with his fork lift.
At my place we used an engine hoist . Not as easy as a fork lift! When you want something you just git er done.

It truly IS amazing what a little beer will do to get a project completed.
Since I lost my mind mind, I feel more liberated

Re: Old still works.
I have spent the last two days installing a new furnace and water heater in my house. No thats not the "old still works" part.
My buddy Joe is a heating and air guy and got me all the stuff. Tonight he came over to hook up lines for compressor and pull a vacum to make it all work. I got his vacum pump out of his van and could not believe how heavy this little old pump was. When I say old, his dad built this when he was in high school. He is 86 now. Now he charged me for the work but to my suprise the bill was already paid. After we hooked up the pump we were running late for a meeting at the fire station. He asked if I wanted to ride with him. I asked the same only I was going to drive the TT. Well since he went to Missouri with me to get it and hadnt had a ride yet the decision was made. You should have heard him laugh as he watched my gps speedo as we came into town on SR 9 at a blistering 39 mph. In a wood truck thats smokin! He said that was payment enough.

Yeah, that's an old pump Dallas. I bet she sucked it right out still !!
Mine is so old, the plastic handle with the switch just fell apart the other day, still works, used it today.
