My wife just got an email supposedly from Apple ID saying something had been purchased on her account. The email was well written and looked okay. But she doesn't have an Apple account! On closer look, it was addressed to "Dear Customer". While the first 3/4 of the sender's address looked appropriate, I looked at the last 1/4, and it didn't look like a USA address. Google didn't tell us anything either. So we did not respond to it!
So just a "heads up", whether you use Apple or not. Be wary.
I guess with this new format keeping anything not directly model T in the bad boys corner? Only us bad boys will get the warning?
FYI New scam using Apple ID

I got a similar email.
I logged into my Apple account by other means (not the link in the email).
Everything was fine.

"...bad boys corner" Hehehe! I like it Wayne!
I've felt a dork most of my life so being a part of "Wayne Sheldon and the Bad Boys" is kinda cool...
I'll let my Apple using wife know about the emails. Thanks!

Re: FYI New scam using Apple ID
This world is filled with scumbags. It would be nice if the world was all
sunshine and lollipops, .... good people, living honest, upstanding lives.
But that ain't human nature. It's just a fact.
Not sure where I got the outlook I have, but I often hear Inspector Clouseau
in my head, saying "I suspect everyone, and I suspect no one". Maybe I have
that backwards ? Doesn't matter. The point is the same. I trust no one, but
I try and allow people the space to prove themselves. Cynical ? Especially
with stuff like this ? Hell yes, I am ! Sadly, I think most people are way too
trusting, or just too lazy to really think something through or do due diligence
to figure it out before the scumbags got their hooks into them.
I read a story when I was deployed of a super savvy hacker-level computer
guy who spent his hacker time going after scam artists and basically sending
them all the virus stuff to melt them down for a very long time. The bad news
was there there is no money in that. Just personal satisfaction. But I wanted
to buy the guy a drink for dishing back a little of what those dirtbags foist on
people every day.

At first I thought about replying but thought better.
