To day , I open a Model A generator from one of the club members.
All together it looks not to bad,but the collector had something strange .
It looks like that someone did this by hand .
Do one off you has ever seen this, and what could be the reason for this .

The A generator does not have a tension spring like the T, they are a wound type spring mounted on the pivot post. The piece that holds the brushes has limiters to prevent the brush mount screw from coming in contact with the commutator if the brushes wore out or came loose, but if the screw worked out and the bracket got bent, that would do it.
If it passes the growler test it should be ok. Depending on how thick the copper is in the segments, take a clean up cut and clean out the grooves between the segments.
