Thanks Dennis.
That is the photo with the little truck or commercial car as they were called back then. Telephone on Radiator.
I tried last night to lift the photo to the top and was very surprised to see it here now.
I feel that I have 90% mechanical remains as shown in that photo that I purchased at an estate sale (Rear axle and wheels are missing most probably used on a farm implement) Steering shaft is missing also.
2cyl Horizontal engine about 5inch bore.
Muncie 2speed epicyclic gearbox including clutch which could explain the two hand brake levers in photo and with two drive chains.
Platform rear spring set (Three spring packs)
3/4 elliptic front springs (Front dumb iron is half a spring)

Could it be a DUNTLEY Commercial Car??/ Pre runner to the Little Giant.

I don't think electric as both trucks have a starting handle, ...Neil.

I see Burger parked his truck next to the Laughing cow truck. It looks different then the one he posts when he's at work. Is that the French spelling of his name?

With the wheel under the steering wheel on the column and the large side box between the wheels (for batteries)
plus the lack of a front starting (crank) handle I would say it an electric vehicle....N.

I thought the radiator looked somewhat familiar. "Fageol" popped into my head. Then I tried to zoom in on the name and discovered "White".
25Whitee.jpg
I dug into my folder and found a similar one. The radiator is a bit heavier and the channel front frame member are a bit different than lighter Whites.
I believe the license plate is Idaho X-25.
Some may enjoy this short video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eac1-EHQVk
It is identified as a 1914 White Five Ton Truck but the motor is a Model 45 like my 1923 and 1924s..

Thanks Rich, a trick of lighting, the radiator didn't look like a White to me. You sure nailed it !
This may not qualify as a truck, and I'm sorry the quality is so bad, but it's pretty unique. I've never seen a Model T sheep camp before !

The source claimed the boss didn't like it - it made it too easy for the sheepherders to go to town, and the Ford couldn't make it into some campsites where a team could.

Fuzzy Foto's are good exercise for the imagination. The advert in front of the axle might be fun to read.
This is another Model 20 White. Mid 20s probably. Merchandising the Drink.

There is so much to like in that photo. The roll-up curtains prove it is weather proof. Cowl lights only suggest limited night use. There is some extra equipment on the steering column.
The support at the the end of the fine looking building is intriguing too.
I won't guess the make. The mismatch of hood to radiator confuses me.
Thanks for posting this one too.

That looks a bit like a REO car hood but their trucks had a completely different look. I haven't looked farther yet. There was a GEO. Reinberg SSSS Cut Flowers at the Wabash address in Chicago.
I like the picture.

I have enjoyed seeing details of others non-Fords here on the Forum. I though these engine photos might be interesting to some. Many of the trucks on this thread are Whites This is my 1923 Model 15-45 engine.
WhtBus1.jpg
WhtBus2.jpg
WhtBus3.jpg
The crankcase, pan and transmission housing are aluminum casting. Lynite is the material name. The cylinder bore is 4 1/4 and the stroke is 5 3/4. There is a water pump and magneto ignition. Provisions are made for starter and generator but mine was not equipped with them.
Polishing the brass water pipe and spark plug conduit made it a pretty engine however the factory painted the entire engine after assembly.

I'm not sure if it is a Knox. I found these Knox photos. The water cooled ones have a shorter radiator. It could be a different model.

This is 18 year old Harry Fruehauf posing in his fathers invention, the first fifth wheel trailer !
This trailer is restored and was (or is) on display in the Piquette Avenue plant.

That is the more familiar one. I wonder how it compares with the car based gear ratio. The chain drive would have quite a reduction.

Interesting that both photos show the trailer loaded with what appears to be bundles of shingles.

I’ve been looking for a trailer and hitch assembly like that for behind a TT.

The Berkshire Lumber Co 5th wheel is bothering me a bit. Just trying to figure out what car that is under the front of the 5th wheel trailer? The front fender has the anti-vibration rib across the middle of the fender, added for 1913. The fender also appears to have the front 'bill', a 1912 feature. And the windshield appears to be 1912 or earlier. The body appears to be a cut-off, but a cut-off what? The lower behind the seat area looks like a runabout of 1913 or later? However, no runabouts or roadsters 1912 or earlier had that transition shape to where the later turtle deck was fit into place. Tool box and spare tires obscure much of the rest of the body.
Could it be a 1912 'slab-side' touring car with the rear half the body cut off? In the photo it looks as if there might be some remnant of a body where the rear door would meet up with the front section? But it really doesn't look like that to me? Maybe hacked out crooked?
Looks like a more or less proper runabout top?
Certainly interesting.

The shingles are stacked nice but the lumber stacked in the background is impressive considering there were no forklifts back then.

Have a thing also for the operator forward and the electric trucks like the Knox trucks. Just plain cool.

I see a 1917 or later T and WWI uniforms. This could be the end of the War or after. The mud and running board brace tell a bit of a story.

With other soldiers in the background and a tent off to the right of the truck they still may be on an army base somewhere.

I do love looking at all the trucks and would love to get one someday and just may if I could convince Patty to leave her car outside so I would have room for the truck. ;)

It apparently is a new truck as the hood is very shiny.

Here is a layout of the "Medium" Baker Electric Model U Truck chassis. They made a Model X Delivery, a Model O Light Truck and a Model CC Heavy Truck also. This is from a 1913 catalog.

It's interesting what we can find sometimes.
"The March 12th Billboard stated, in reference to the Wallace Greater Shows: "The No. 2 advance wagon is out of the paint shop. It is a 1 ˝ on truck with heavy carved mirrors. The show will use No. 1 and No. 2 trucks for the advance. Additions signed for the Big Show are Clark Boynton and his Canine Circus; Suzenette and Clark, cannonball juggling and contortion act. The Big Show will also feature a 6-brother act."
"Ray Dick will have the No. 1 and No. 2 side shows. Chief William Barnett and wife in a zulu act, with a museum of zulu warrior relics, will be a feature of the side show. The Wallace Show will be new from stake bands up. An innovation in lighting has been perfected whereby the trucks will generate the current to light the show. Two of the principal stockholders of this show are Mr. J. W. and E. W. Graham who have had daughters in show business for a number of years.""
Probably more than we need to know.

Maybe???
I don't really know Internationals. I found these '29s and the orange one is a '30. There are several differences in models. You can see the wheels and bumpers are similar. Some have the beads in the door although a different placement. Some don't have. Some have a shorter bunch of louvers while some look like your photo. Many have the familiar "International" text plate above the louvers. The radiator is a bit vague and some have drum lights. The visor matches some.
2930int.jpg
I would think it's a good chance but can't prove it.
I hope someone more knowledgeable will take the time to chime in.
Thanks

I could be dead wrong, but I think the photo Rich posted, middle in the bottom row is the same photo Herb posted. My dim remembries of derelict International trucks seems to agree.

Wayne -
I'm pretty sure the unit under the 5th wheel above is a standard later 1914 runabout with the newly re-introduced bills on the front fenders. The windshield has been made to stand straight up and brace to the front, like a '12. The windshield, without the sloping lower half to move the top half rearward, no longer meets the top, it stands a couple of inches ahead of the front bow.

Great photo and nice use of the new TT chassis. Those of you who use your Ts to pick up feed and such must really identify with this.

Technically not a truck, it's a fire engine - but some people call them fire trucks!

Photo of Serpa & Pimentel livery stable and crew. Daily 13 mile stage runs were made to Gilroy (California) Hot Springs with horse-drawn stages. The operation was a short walk from the downtown train station. Train station and stable buildings are gone.
livery stable entrance.jpg
In 1913, the stables modernized, adding a powerful motor stage to their line, a new 1913 Stanley Model 810 12-passenger 30 hp Mountain Wagon. The mountain wagons were designed for use at F.O. Stanley's resort hotel at Estes Park, Colorado. There was no train service to the park and the 22 mile trip was miserable in a horse-drawn stage. The Mountain Wagons proved so well suited for the work, hotel owners across the country wanted one (or two or three). And so Serpa & Pimentel bought one to serve the Hot Springs. When the huge, new red car arrived, they photographed it in front of the Hot Springs Hotel on its maiden voyage.

To promote both the stage line service and the resort, the Stanley was decked out with banners, bunting, pennants and Japanese lanterns to show how wonderful the resort experience could be.

Things went very well through the 'teens, the Stanley did its work daily, hauling thousands of loads of visitors up to the springs and back down to town. Coyote Creek provided a handy source for clear water for the steamer. Stops on the bridge, with the syphon hose thrown over the railing into the creek below, took only a few minutes to fill the water tank under the front seat.

Usually grossly overloaded, the old Stanley put in a lot of trips.

The hotel survived into the early 1980s, but was lost to arson.

I am enjoying the Stanley photos also. I had posted these on the Steam Car thread.

I was fortunate to be around them and even ride in the two with their tops up. What wonderful machines.
When did I do that?

Two ways to tell at a glance from a distance if the Stanley Mountain Wagon is an early wood-framed on or a later steel-framed one... the wood framed ones are all right hand drive and the seats are on 4" risers. The steel-framed cars are LHD and the seats are on 2" risers. Obviously, too, if you are close enough you can see the frame horns on a steel-framed car, wooden cars have all full elliptic springs.

The nest version of Mountain Wagon was the 12-passenger cars.
These are really big and some of the largest cars Stanley ever produced. They are a 2,500 lb. capacity truck with three removable seats. Driver's seat is fixed and located over fuel and water tanks.

Later steel-framed cars could be had in four-seat versions or the new, huge 15-passenger, five-seat car.

There was, for some inexplicable reason, an even bigger car built on a 2-ton truck chassis and they are crazy big. I don't think I have a photo of the 2-ton car/truck scanned.

None of the original nine-passenger cars survived, but enough bones made it to assure there are a few examples today.

Hey, that looks like the old Telluride Transfer International with a 1940 Colorado license plate on it. (Black on yellow.) (1933?)
Telluride, "the town without a belly ache".
Good to see it.
