Wanted: front axle repair
I have a 27 that needs upper and lower king pin inserts on the right side.
I don't have the tools, so I would need to buy all that just for one repair.
It would suit me better if I could bring the axle somewhere and have it done.
I can remove the axle and bring it to a shop within a couple hundred miles or so.
My zip is 26105 (Parkersburg, WV; Marietta, OH) area.
PM or email or call (304) two nine 5 - seven seven 2 four.
Thanks

Re: Wanted: front axle repair
If it’s actually a ‘27 axle, they are typically quite a bit harder and odds are you might just end up breaking the tapered reamer. They can be kind of dicey to use the Stevens tooling on unless you are quite experienced. My recommendation would be to find a better axle.

Check your email. Sent a contact of someone close to you. Also you ship them by ups. Not to bad depends on how far. Dan

Re: Wanted: front axle repair
I have the same need as Leonard with my '26 Runabout's front axle. I have searched, unsuccessfully, my contacts in eastern Nebraska for someone who can do the repair. I can send it to Model T Haven for repair but I would like to find someone within a few hours drive.
If anyone in eastern Nebraska or western Iowa wants to earn some cash, send me a PM or email through the forum.
Sorry for hijacking your thread, Leonard.

Mark,
Not at all, that's what it's for. The more the merrier.
The more attention this thread gets the better the chance we all get our axles fixed.
Also, you may want to see my post under parts, for a sevens axle tool.
You may see some useful information or options there.
