ECCT GUI

Post by Tom_Carnegie » Thu Jun 17, 2021 6:01 pm

Does anyone know how to make the ECCT software full on the screen. The right hand side is cut off, and the mouse will not expand it. I have tried different screen resolutions and that doesn't help.

Have you used it successfully on Windows XP before and this is a new problem? Or did you load it in XP and this is what it always does?

I can't say for sure. I have only ever used it on this computer, and not very often. It may have worked right at one time, but I rather think it has always been like this.

You can always click on the box in the top right corner for a temporary fix.

I can’t comment on your issue specifically but when we bought ours, we bought an el cheapo windows 10 laptop from Walmart just to run the ECCT and it’s software. Then had to get a small USB disc drive to download the software. That took a lot of the headache away.

Nope. Puffs it up full screen, but is still cut off on RH side.

I experienced that only if the resolution was less than 1280 x 1024. I use it on Windows 2000, XP and 7. My Windows 2000 laptop won't allow that high of a resolution, but the cut-off GUI doesn't affect functionality. My XP and 7 PC's have higher resolution which shows everything.

Have you tried reducing the image size by holding the Ctrl key down and tapping the '-' (minus) sign key to make the displayed page smaller? To get back to normal use Ctrl and '+' (plus) sign to make things bigger.

Tried that. No change.

I have found a work-around. I set up a second (virtual) monitor and extend my desktop onto it.

Thanks for everyone's input.

JohnH has it right, the ECCT Advanced Features Software was developed for a 5∶4 aspect ratio screen resolution of 1280 x 1024. Older older monitors and laptops (prior to 2002) may have screen resolutions limited to 1024 x 768 or lower which will cut off the ECCT Graphical User Interface (GUI) as in Tom's post. 1280 x 960 should also work if you have that capability. Glad you found a solution with the MT500 quickly approaching ;)

If your laptop has an external monitor port (probably VGA, maybe HDMI) then you can connect a monitor or perhaps your TV if it has a VGA or HDMI port. But you will need the appropriate data cable.
