A friend in NJ who collects old tools recently acquired this Ford script hubcap wrench. I don't have the measurements on it but do know the large opening is much bigger than the Model T hubcap. Note it also only has two openings in it. I've asked a couple of other Model T tool guys what it is and they are also wondering. Can anyone tell us what year and vehicle it was used on?
Thanks,
Terry

Re: Ford scrip hubcap wrench questions
My first guess would be Fordson tractor, which also has hexagonal hubcaps. My second guess would be one or more of the pre-T Fords. Not knowing any of the sizes involved, I don't know how valid either guess is.
The inevitable often happens.

Re: Ford scrip hubcap wrench questions
I thought perhaps tractor also, but tool collectors have told me those were marked "Fordson" rather than just Ford.
Good suggestion tho-

Re: Ford scrip hubcap wrench questions
It is probably for the ton and ton-and-a-half trucks of the '30s and maybe as late as the early '50s. They used a simple steel hub cap on the rear axle that was larger and more plain than the TT hubcap. I don't know what the AA used, but that wrench looks newer than that to me. Somewhere in my junk I have one of those later truck hubcaps. I was told it went into the early '50s.
I am not a hundred percent sure however. I "think" the cap I have was a hex and not a oct, but am not certain.

Here are a couple of other pictures sent to me today that show the measurements on it.
