23 center door rear window install
brought home my first Model T last Friday, a Canadian '23 center door. This weekend I want to start putzing with it in the garage. Adjusting the hand brake lever, flipping the steering wheel over the correct way... You know - fiddling and fretting over the new baby
I got all the glass, the interior moldings, etc, but none of it installed. First one I want to install since it should be straightforward - is the rear window. I have the new safety glass, and the wood garnish with screws, but no rubber or anything. Langs shows rear window rubber channel part number 8030. Is this the stuff I need ?

Re: 23 center door rear window install
Cory,
I just finished replacing all glass in my '22 center door with safety glass. I used MAC's p/n A19003R for the rear window. The Lang's part is listed as 1923 to 1927. It is probably ok, but the "new" 2 door came out in 1923. The back window is a different shape, not oval like yours. But at 80" it will be long enough.
I installed mine with the seam at the top, and used a small bead of clear silicone around the window frame before pressing the glass into place.
Good to hear from a Colorado "neighbor"!

Your wood rear window hoop has screws? Mine had nails.

Quite possible the screws are incorrect. I have no idea. That’s just what came with it.

Re: 23 center door rear window install
Cory,
Please post some photos of your rear window and parts. I have the oval "frame" but do not have anything more for our '20 center door.
Glad to see that your center door stayed in Colorado.
Good Luck,
Terry

Re: 23 center door rear window install
pretty cool that there are a bunch of center doors around here !
I guess it makes sense, closed cars given our climate.

Re: 23 center door rear window install
Everyone keeps saying how rare they are. There are about 6 in the MTFCA Mile High Chapter and another 3-4 that I know of in the Denver Metro area. Doesn't seem they are too rare, at least around Colorado.
I would love to see your window replacement photos.
My son is currently living in the Springs. He's a big fan of Model Ts and a real car nut.
Cheers,
