I have been wanting to tell this story since last September - it is a great tale about service & patience & love & family .... 💡

Very recently there was Wichita local tv interview with Kenny that covered part of his service during WW2 .... 👍

The $300 Model A

Post by FreighTer Jim » Thu Feb 20, 2020 12:12 pm

Kenny served his Country and returned to Wichita.

He experience severe headaches for which aspirin and other medications did nothing to relieve the pain.

The only relief he found was lying down in for the pain to pass - so employment opportunities were limited.

He was a Milkman and had the first Liquor Store in Wichita after the war.

Kenny wanted a Model A - not a regular Model A - a Model A Special - but he only had $300 to spend.

There was a Model A Special he could buy for $500.

So (62) years ago he bought this Model A for $300.

He still owns it - it runs & drives .... 👍

What a great story.

There are two more cars I want to add to my stable and a Model A coupe is one of them. When the time comes, I'd love to find one like Kenny's....one with a long history of being loved....one that I can be the caretaker of.
