At the MTFCA's 55th Annual Meeting held this weekend at the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska, the recipient of the Walter Rosenthal Award was announced.
Sam Atkinson from the Model T Ford Club of Greater St. Louis was selected to receive this prestigious honor.
The Walter Rosenthal Award is the highest honor the Model T Ford Club of America can bestow on one of its members. Nominations are accepted throughout each calendar year and the recipient selected from the submissions. Just a few comments from members nominating Sam include:
- Dedicated member of our club for many years
- Willingly offers a helping hand to anyone, donates needed parts and tools, and offers encouragement to newcomers, including giving driving lessons
- Always the guy involved in whatever needs to be done
- Organizes tours and parades, especially taking pride in the Veterans Day parade
- He is truly a man who lives and breathes Model T Fords.
- He has always had a good attitude and the best disposition ever!
- He never stops looking for ways to bring new members into the club
- If you need him, he is always there for you!
The trophy was presented by Ed Archer, who was joined by previous recipients pictured below: (from left) Sam Atkinson, Tony Bowker (2019), Larry Azevedo (2013), Russ Grunewald (2009), Bud Redding (2012), and Ed Archer (1974).
Congratulations, Sam, and thank you for all you do for the Model T hobby!
