At the MTFCA's 55th Annual Meeting held this weekend at the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska, the recipient of the Ben Yumori Driving Award was announced.
Jerry & Kim Kramer from the Richmond Henry's Hoosiers Chapter were selected as the recipients of the Ben Yumori trophy.
This award was dedicated to Ben Yumori to acknowledge someone who traveled the greatest distance in their Model T, promoted the club, and was an ambassador for the hobby. Nominations are accepted throughout the calendar year. Some comments from the nominations for the Kramers include:
- The Kramer's don’t just attend tours, although they can be seen driving their T in Arizona in the snow one day and off to Florida for the winter tour the next day, and even off to Australia. They make the tours fun, they interact with everyone - there is no stranger in a tour when they’re around. Jerry and Kim don’t just go out of their way to make you feel welcome - - it’s their warm personalities and natural attitude about what they represent in the MTFCA.
- Professional, dependable, friendly, outgoing, generous and caring is not enough to describe interacting with them, together or separately. Attend any tour, event, or work related project and there are the Kramer's talking “T” and what can be done to enhance and support all things “T” related.
Eric Sayer presented the award on behalf of the MTFCA, his wife Jennifer, and all those who knew and respected Ben Yumori. Please join us in congratulating Jerry & Kim on this great honor.
