I have what I have always thought to be a 27 roadster body. I have been looking for a trunk or deck lid for it . All the one I find are to long. Mine measures 34 1/2 x 25 All the ones I have found are 34 1/2 x 34 1/2 . Any ideas ?? Was it a rumble seat ?

Thanks Mike

While you could get an aftermarket rumble seat kit, T's did not come with one stock. Chances of finding someone that does have one installed are pretty slim. Show us a photo, I am betting it is a coupe body that the top was taken off not a roadster body.

Mike: The lid on my '26 coupe is 34 3/8" at the lower lip below the keyhole and 36 3/8" wide at the hinge point at top. Measuring along the curve of the lid sheet metal from upper to lower is roughly 37 3/4", which leads me to conclude the lid you have is for a coupe. There were no rumbleseat model T's. Best, jb

Guess I am one of the fortunate ones as I have a rumble seat on my ‘27 roadster!
The lid is made in 2 sections

Mike, you have what looks like a standard run-of the-mill 1926-27 roadster body. Others will know the specific features of a 1927, but regarding the trunk lid, a standatd 26-27 trunk lid will fit yours. Not a rumble seat. If you are finding deck lids that are too big they are not model t.

The only way I can see from the photos that you are getting the 25+ number is if you are measuring from the bottom of that cut off inner panel. If that is the case, what you might be looking at and thinking is a short panel is just the remains of the old inner panel. For some reason in the past the outer skin was removed and the lower part of the inner panel cut off.

Thanks everyone who has replied. If you look close there are rubber stops at the bottom where the lid closed?
