Re: 26 coupe windshield glass removal
Keith,
I did a post a while back on how I removed/replaced the glass from my center door. Should be the same, or similar windshield. Link to post below.

Re: 26 coupe windshield glass removal
My '26 Coupe has a steel frame in two parts, a wide 'U' and a closing piece. Held together by some small screws at two of the corners. These all came out and then I was able to separate the frame parts and gently pull the frame from the glass.
I bought some thin rubber strip (about 0.050" thick?) to fit round the new glass, but I had to cut it to width so that it just shows when in the frame.
Clear silicone seal not only seals but helps lubricate while assembling. I think the new glass is 6mm, but my memory may be incorrect.
It's tricky to get it all back in, but I managed and the end result is fine.
My frame is body colour - the previous owner's choice, but I think that you are right in thinking that they were black, along with the dash panel.
