Stromberg OE-1 how to set questions

I finally got the engine rebuilt, and installed in the speedster project. Im installing my Stromberg OE-1 carb that came with the Rajo 4 valve head, I installed on the engine. The carb is a fresh Stan Howe rebuild. Since I have it Im going to use it. I made an "S" intake adapter to locate the carb inside the frame rail and engine. It is sitting slightly lower than a stock T carb in location to the frame rails. With the "S' adapter and the higher location of the intake ports on the 4 valve I have a fairly long "runner" on the intake. Does anyone see any issues with the length of my intake runner. I am planning on wrapping the "S" adapter with exhaust heat wrap if I have any iceing problems with the steel "S" adapter.

Since I have never used a OE-! or never even seen the inside of one can anyone help me on settings and functions of all the "many" --- "many" screws, plugs, drains, pumps, ect ect ect. Man this thing has a lot going on. :). I thought I would ask here first, before I bother Stan .. I know there should be people who have ran and set up these carbs.

I put numbers on the photos to match the items Im asking about. I think I know what some of them are, but others, not a clue ...
Thanks

Donnie, there was probably -- or at least should have been - an instruction sheet in the box when you got it.

The knob next to the fuel bowl is high speed, the one on the riser is idle. Fuel inlet on the bottom, fuel level at the plug on the bowl.
It was test run and adjusted before shipping, it should only need minor tweaking.
If you can't find your instruction sheet let me know and I'll send you one.

What Stan said.

Yes they have a lot of parts, but most of them are inert and are really just drain plugs for if and when you have to clean the passages. Your #1 is idle, #2 is the economizer needle setting, and #3 is high speed mixture. The economizer enriches the mixture at higher throttle, and you're probably fine with it set where it is.

I might be running an OE-1 on my 4-valve Rajo, I can't wait to hear how this one runs.

Stan. I do not remember an instruction sheet for the OE-1, but there may have been and I just don't remember it. I do remember getting a instruction book with my Stromberg OF you rebuilt for me.

I have not changed any of the settings, except the throttle arm placement.

You said the fuel inlet is on the bottom. Can I use either the # 8 or #13 I show in the photos for the fuel inlet. The #8 fitting will be best because of the tight clearances I have with the generator.

I will send you a e-mail with my address and e-mail. Thanks ...

I'll be back home later today and at the shop either later today or early tomorrow and will post pictures of the sheets and then mail you a copy asap.
I had forgotten you got this on a trade.

I'm over 2000 Carburetors, hard to remember them all and all the deals about them.
OE1s are great carbs.

Either of the bottom inlets is fine.

Donnie ,
is that a custom intake you are running?

Thanks Stan.

John. The upper part of the intake is what came with the Rajo 4 valve head. I had to make two 2inch spacers to allow it to miss the cast iron dual exhaust. But then the carb set where it would hit the frame rail. So I first bought one of the cast aluminum S adapters that the vendors sell. It would not rotate enough to clear the frame, so I had to make a custom S adapter myself. It is made using exhaust tubing U-bends cut and welded to make the S shape. I also needed a place for a bell crank to change the gas linkage from side to "side" to "front to rear" So I incorporated it into the s-adapter flange. The s-adapter also moves the carb to the rear enough to miss the generator when I install one later. A couple days work to make all the pieces.
