Temporary closing
Just a heads-up that we will be closing down our shop for several weeks immediately after Chickasha for some very badly needed and very much overdue maintenance, streamlining, and re-organizing. We will finish up and ship any order that has been placed with us up to now (that we are able to do--i.e. not waiting on suppliers for parts, etc.) and then we'll be closed for awhile. We had a small but very smoky and hours-long fire in here quite awhile ago which made a big mess as you can imagine, and resulted in a lot of things getting moved here and shoved and piled there, and we've never really recovered from that. We've been working around the disorder and mess for several years now and my part time assistant and I agreed that we really can no longer do that. Pecking away here and there at the shop as we worked to still get orders out the door just wasn't working; things were slowly getting worse, so we decided this was the best way to go; just bite the bullet and go at it tooth and nail. In the meantime, please feel free to place orders for parts and rebuilding services as usual, just be aware that it will be awhile before we will be able to fill and ship them.
I really apologize for the inconvenience, but the end result will be better and more efficient service for all our customers. Hope that you all understand! Any questions, please shoot me an email. rvmodeltATnetsyncDOTnet
Thanks much and best regards,
RV Anderson

I need to do that too, but I'm retired and don't have anything to shut down.

I'm retired and don't have time for that.

Re: Temporary closing
I second that. My wife made a rare recce into my shop yesterday and said - this place is a mess, why don't you tidy up?

There are things I still haven't found from my last shop cleaning about ten years ago.

Re: Temporary closing
A clean shop is the sign of a sick mind. When presented with his Menlo Park invention factory recreation, Tom Edison told Ford, it was close, but not nearly as messy.
