I found this book in dads stuff it was published by ford in 1962, for as long as I can remember we have been docked points at judging for the little clip that holds the horn tube at the bottom curve of the driver door . Well looking at the first car in the picture it sure looks like a little clip holding the horn tube . I guess when I paint the car that clip will stay. The picture of my car is when Dad brought it home June 1960

Interesting. The car appears to be a mid-year '12, and the horn's flexible tubing is definitely anchored near the bottom-back of the "door". The flexible tubing on the other cars are routed a bit differently. They mostly appear shorter, and pulled tighter to above the bottom of the "door". Although not visible, given how tightly they are pulled, I would guess they are also anchored there.
Also interesting (to me?) is that the second car over appears to have a painted black horn. Maybe could be lighting? However all the rest of the cars appear to have exposed brass horns.
Been a long time since i have seen a copy of that book.

"Anyone else surprised by the spare tires?"

Do you mean the mounting location or the color, Jeff ? I didn't notice the color the first time I saw the pic, so thank you for sending me back for another look.

Do you suppose the spare is wrapped with a protective cover, or is it really a black tire ? I thought blacks didn't appear until sometime in the '20's.

In most cases Canadian cars don't have spares like that but I believe this is an order for a company so maybe special order . We have never carried a spare tire there is 3 tubes a jack and tire irons in the trunk . Since 1960 we have not had a flat ,I leaned how to change tires when we put new tires on in 2012 I will rotate them this year . Cheers Colin
