26 Tudor tail light question
I am doing some work on a 26 Tudor for a friend. Its missing the tail light. It has a goose neck spare tire carrier. What tail light and how is it mounted?
Any photos or help would be great.
Thank you

Re: 26 Tudor tail light question
26-27 tail light is mounted on the left rear fender for all body styles except roadster pickup. Optional accessory large drum brake light/tail light, or the standard small jelly jar tail light. Both had their own combination backing plate and license plate bracket. Both used the same rear fender mounting bracket. Langs has a correct looking reproduction jelly jar tail light and also the mounting bracket.

Re: 26 Tudor tail light question
The accessory "Stop" lights are getting pricey and hard to find. Dodge used an identical taillight except for the "DB". Early Model As used a "Stop" light with the same mounting. Repros are available.

Re: 26 Tudor tail light question
Standard tail lamp, 'tea cup' style. The license plate bracket is made for the metal cup housing, uses wire retainer. The glass cup goes inside the metal cup, and covered with plastic red lens on top, plastic is exposed.
Of course to mount the license bracket with tail lamp you need the fender mount bracket.
Lang's makes a great reproduction at less cost than restoring an original. Comes complete to mount including the fender mount, #8786CX for around $60.
You may have to search to find the small [3/8" head size] taller hex head bolts to mount, the fender bracket also needs the backing plate Lang's #8785PL. Those little hex bolts are also used to fit rear body panels together.

Re: 26 Tudor tail light question
Thanks guys. I was hoping for a mount on the spare tire carrier. This car has fiberglass fenders and am unsure if they would cack with the original fender mount. Its a nice looking car but not all original fasteners and such. A very good driver.
