Thank you for your useful reply. I now understand that the total length, "front tire to rear fender = 138"" or 11'-6".

However, in theses smaller enclosed trailers the T's top must be put down to get a touring car inside. Therefore, in order to close the rear ramp-door I would need to determine the total length of the car with the top down which would be longer than the measurement front tire to rear fender, wouldn't it be?.

Thank you for your wise observations. I didn't think about how I would go about "tying down" the front of the car in such a confined space. I did, however, recognize that an enclosed trailer would make stuffing the T full of luggage, wheelchair, walker, cold and warm weather gear, etc for my father much more difficult. Therefore, after digesting your comments I now believe that, because of our tow capacity limitations, we are better off with an open trailer.

I have 2 trailers that are 7' tall because of the windshield height of my Model T open express & the height of my Model T pickup top (also a non Ford body) they are not car trailers but cargo (car trailers are wider-and I like the visibility being narrower than car trailers). One is a 14' Alumna made in Iowa all aluminum floor, tailgate & sub frame, the other is a 16' Snapper made in Georgia, plywood floor and tailgate, it was half the price of the Aluma and half the quality, Both allow me storage for two of my Modal T's. Both are two axle trailers, you could get away with single axle, but the two axle for me is safer. I drive them in and out most of the time, not much side clearance and I have to crowd a little to the left and suck in my gut when I get out. If the trailer has small cables on the tailgate get two pool noodles slit them lengthwise and slip them over the cables when you load they will help you by making it more difficult to catch a fender on a cable while going in & out, ask me how I know. To answer your question 12' is a little short, as you still half to hook up straps and tie downs.

If using a flat bed trailer be careful in using a cover.
I hauled my 28 model A a long distance covered with a cheap hardware store tarp and rubbed the paint off in spots on the fenders.

Why don’t you buy my 7’ X 14’ X 7’10” tall for only $4,500 ? Can be pulled by a 1/2 ton truck.Picture with my centerdoor loaded. Also load the ‘14 runabout with top up.

I have the same trailer than George and I really like it. I trailed my 1911 Touring with it and work perfectly.

I have towed my 1912 open express & the 1920 Touring each to Virginia from New York (just under 500 miles each way) in my open 16' cargo trailer and even towing a car to a regional show it take a long time to secure including removing loose or possibly parts I gave up and bought the first of my 2 cargo trailers. They tow harder because of the wind resistance but provide a safe haven from the weather for a least 2 of the T's and save me lots of time loading, going to shows and return.

...but if you’re determined to tow an early Ford (with rubber bulb actuating the brass horn) in an open trailer - REMOVE THE RUBBER BULB first. And don’t ask me how I know

I'll never have another narrow trailer with wheels on the outside BUT That trailer with high top is certainly a deal at that price and SO much better for your T trailering in wind and bad weather. My thought is the wide trailers offer so much more inside and the width is the same except for the mirrors going down the freeway. On tours I most always use my trailer as a garage at night. So what's a little wind resistance? Its the same just like when your driving the T!
