Magnet shipping box.

I am looking to make some magnet shipping/storage boxes and was wondering if anyone might have any photos of ones that are purportedly "original" Ford pieces. I had found a post from a few years ago where James Golden had posted about an original Ford piece and he listed the dimensions (16" x 16" with a 3/8" bottom), but no picture. If anyone would happen to have any photos of what they believe to be an original, any help would be appreciated.

There was a gal on ebay recently advertising NOS T magnets in the original Ford boxes - if you can't find it, I'll dig mine out from under the bench.

I don't know if Ford shipped them this way but I think it's good practice to have a bar contacting the poles of each magnet if your plan is to keep a good charge on them in storage and transport.

I’ve got an original with a shipping address on it if you want a pic of that.

Richard,
That was the past post where I had gotten the dimensions posted by James. The photos in that post look like "originals", but more images of originals can't hurt. The more the better.

Kenny,
If you can get some photos of that, that would be fantastic.

Steve,
I had seen all of the N.O.S. parts that had been listed recently. I think that they were confusing New Old Stock with Never Outta Service, but any helps is always appreciated.

Thank you for the help and I will be looking forward to some photos.

Here is the simple box I made for holding a set of flywheel magnets.

Use some scrap 1/2" plywood as the base. The sides are 3/4" x 1 1/2" pine trim pieces.

Dimensions are noted on the box, 15" x 15" square inside. The angle corners are approx. 6" long. Fastened with dry wall screws of course!

Got fancy and cut out a round piece from a 6" wide pine, and made it approx. 5" in diameter.

The magnet set will nestle in this box, with a lid could be shipped.

The center round I marked to indicate the location of the flywheel dowels, as just wanted to take off and replace these magnets in the same relation of each other they had been fitted so many decades ago

Just wanted to bring this back up to the top to see if anyone has any photos of some original shipping boxes. Thanks for looking.

Thank you Ken, that is exactly what I am looking for. It looks like a "shadow" line from a square piece in the center to hold the magnets in place. It looks as though the 2 slats on the bottom are the same thickness as the boards with the address on them? Any dimensions that you may be able to offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and help.

James still has that box up in the attic.

There is a possibility that I can photograph the other side.

A friend told me he had several of them.

I will visit him on Monday and I may be able to get some better photos.

I used a Domino's pizza box, worked fine, for keeping them clean until I was ready to install them onto my flywheel...it was the cheapest solution I could come up with...the pizza was just a bonus. :D
