Okay guys, this is just for fun...

Post the earliest picture you have of yourself and your Model T. Maybe you don't own the car anymore. That's okay. But I want to see some young, trim, fit guys with full heads of hair. Not the current bunch of fat, old, bald men that are on the discussion forum! I'll go first:
1919 Keith Mr J and Dad 2.jpg
This me in November 1976 with the beginning of my 1919 touring. I had just turned 15. My Dad's friend, Mr. Johnson, and my Dad wearing the stocking cap are sitting on the back. It is the first car I ever owned. I still have the car. I tell people that I am still saving up to buy a new car.
Here is a more recent picture of the two of us.
Keith & 1919 Visa House.jpg
Let's see your first T!

: ^ )

Keith,

I took a photo of my T and I just after midnight so it would be an early photo but it turned out to be all black. :-)

Sorry for the sick humor, I think I have "Lack of Touringitous."

Stay safe and wash your hands,
Dom

I have had a fascination with Model T's since Kindergarten. Here is a photo of me in 1962, age 10, unfortunately not my 1914 Model T:

I did get to ride in the back seat of Gil Fitzhugh's 1914, last summer, on Prince Edward Island.

Sorry Keith,

I reviewed the post only to see you were asking about young and old pictures of you with your Model T. I don't have any of my cars and I together in a photo but that is probably best in case someone were to look at this post during meal time.

Steve, you certainly made up for lost time.
I have posted pictures of my first T on a trailer several times. This is a a bit later clowning around in the driveway the day we made a silent movie.

I might have the picture of the 26 Roadster the day I bought it, or I might have two pictures of the 26 Touring the day I bought it followed by another picture of me fitting the parts together.

I don't know how this happened, but I will try again to post the 26 Roadster the day I bought it. Sorry, I am not in that picture. That was in the fall of 1989. The Touring was purchased in 1994.

Not my T, but the earliest picture of me with a T. On Wayne Avenue in University City MO were three houses in a row: the Clarksons, the Lodges and the Murphys. The girl on the right is the Clarksons' granddaughter, I am the Lodges' grandson and the T belongs to the four Murphy boys, ranging from late teens to early twenties. They would let us climb around on the car and sometimes give us rides around the neighborhood. This was probably in 1946 or 1947. In other words, it's all the Murphy boys' fault!

This is a picture of a high school project that I had my senior year. The TT belonged to the San Jose Historical Museum (I think it is now the Heritage Park) The teacher tricked me into working my butt off and donating a lot of parts but what a great project and memory. The girls in the picture researched and made those period outfits.

We've had our '21 Touring since Sept 2016.
0910162001 (1).jpg
Here is the first pic I ever took of it when I found it on a trailer for sale in a parking lot of a steak house in Pigeon Forge TN.
0204171256.jpg
Here it is sometime later on the day it was ready for the first start up of the rebuilt engine. My buddies helping are old car guys too. Lucas, on the left has a couple of Model Ts and As, and Doug, on the right currently has a '34 Plymouth coupe. I'm in the middle, behind the windshield. Doug's pouring water in the radiator in the radiator from a brown pitcher in the pic.
The car ran great, as it should. Everything in the engine was new, except when the engine was rebuilt, by someone in the Knoxville TN area, I'm told, the old valves were reused. After we ran it 30-40 hours one failed so I am now replacing all the valves.
It took several more weeks after this first start day before everything else was ready for the first drive. :D

First picture is me in 1975. '22 touring. I paid $2,500 for it. I don't have that one anymore. The second picture is my of my dad, Ben Ostergren (that's him at the crank), and his first. It was taken in 1936 when he was 16 years old. He told me that he traded a set of horns for it. He had a lot of fun driving it on the frozen lakes on the north side of St. Paul. He was working at George Zerker's service station for 15 cents an hour at the time.

This car was bought in 1915 by Mr Harris C. Fahnestock and his wife Mable E. Metcalf for their estate in Lenox Massachusetts The car remained on the estate when sold in 1946 to the second owner George Bisacca and remained there until his death in 1983.Anne and her husband Dick bought the T at the estate auction and had Ed Stine upgrade the engine with a “self starter “ as she discribe it and paint the car red.We bought the T on December 4,2016 and this was the first time the car had been out of the garage after Dicks passing in 1994. The speedometer read at this time 4416 miles, we are not shore exactly how many miles are on this car but when Russ Furstnow reconditioned it he believed it had little wear.

Picture 1 is is in 1971. That is me on the front seat at a photo shoot just after my Dad completed restoration of his 1916 Canadian Tourer. He sold it when I was 8 years old. I bought it back 40 years later! I dis some mechanical and cosmetic work on it and drove it for a few years before It got damaged in an accident. It is now undergoing a full re restoration. Might be able to make a few improvements on Dads work!

Here is my first T. It was a 26 roadster pu that I took in trade on a model A. Took it to the Turlock swap meet in 1969 and couldn’t get $300 for it. So I parked it for a year and then decided to build a speedster out of it. Drove it a couple years till we started building fenders and this was the first set of speedster fenders I made. The picture is from 1973 and I sold the car shortly afterward.
