CANCELLED - Luray 2020, Mid Atlantic Prewar Swap Meet
Folks,
It is with great sadness that the Shenandoah Valley Racket "T"ers announce the cancellation of the our 2020 Luray Mid-Atlantic Prewar swap meet. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, Governor Northam has imposed a stay at home/no gathering order, effective through June 10th. There is no scheduled postponement date so we will plan for May of 2021. More information is forthcoming.
We hope everyone will do their part and abide by the guidelines provided by the CDC so the Covid-19 virus can be managed and eliminated. Until then, we wish everyone good health and look forward to gathering next year.

I would encourage everyone who was planning on going to the Luray Swap meet to make a donation to the VFW post where the swap meet is held. The Model T Times had a great article about all the help they provide to area veterans, and renting their space and selling food at the swap meet is a source of income that they need to provide this help. Think how much money you will save by not going . How about helping out our nations veterans by making a generous donation to the post.
The Swap Meet is located at the Comer-Jones VFW Post 621, 218 Veteran Lane in Luray, VA. 22835

We kinda planned on attending Luray this year. Bummer!!!!!!!!!!!! What is there to see in the area? We would travel east on I70 and then south to Morgantown and east to Ridgely, south to Winchester, Front Royal and then into Luray.

Great meet that we were really looking forward to, especially the fellowship there. Super friendly and a great chance to visit with the vendors and old friends you don't see again until Hershey in the fall. Was thinking about hauling some stuff up this year but had to abandon that plan as the schedule got crowded - then look what happened!
Luray is a quiet little community but the caverns and car museum are worth a visit. Coming from the north and down 81 there are some great antique hunting opportunities. Lots of history in the area. One amazing attraction that really surprised me is near Luray just off Rt 81 called American Celebration On Parade. It's an amazing museum of retired parade floats! One of the neatest things we've ever seen. It was a stop on an antique car tour several years ago that was an absolute high-light. It's also right near the Shenandoah Caverns. You're very close to a whole lot of civil war history there. Also just the other side of Luray in the little town of Sperryville is the Copper Fox distillery. It's in an old mill complex with a brewery and an antique shop. Next year it should all be open. Allow plenty of extra time and enjoy the area.
See you there-
