Later this week I hope to locate the wire harness on my 15 runabout restoration project. In the next day or two I should be getting in the mail the following wire harness clamps from Langs:

Which includes two clips to attach the harness to the firewall, and two clips that attach it to the side rail. My understanding is that it doesn't come with any instructions, and was wondering if anyone can provide some guidance on where these clamps go on the side rails and on the firewall so that I can make it like it came from the factory. The firewall and routing on the car was pretty much a mess when I got it, so the pictures that I have of that installation aren't much help.

1917 is the same as 1915 and 1916.

Thanks Erik. These photos have answered my questions.

Except the otherwise fantastic photos show the harness running above the choke wire, whereas Royce's pics show it running
underneath it. Just thought I'd mention it. Frankly, makes no difference to me, but others might care. As often is said, "do what you want, it's your car!"

I'll have to run the wires under the choke wire.

Here are photos of the 1917 "Rip Van Winkle" Ford (June 1917 serial number).

Note the two staples on the firewall for the light switch wire. We have also installed those on our 1917 touring since I took the photos. My unrestored 1917 roadster is missing the staples but the evidence of their existence can be seen on the firewall.

Wires go under the choke wire.

Note the ground wire for the headlights is soldered to the radiator fins. Don't know if this was done on the brass radiator cars - you'd have to talk to someone that has researched it.

Paul Iverson has a really nice, unrestored 1916 touring.

If you look at the photos he posted a while back, you can see bits and pieces of the wiring. Note that it looks like the loom is tucked under the edge of the hood former.

His car also has the bell wire staples for the headlamp wire.
