If the sign in the upper right of the photo is an accurate indication, that's El Centro, CA. It's located about 113 miles east of San Diego just a little north of the US/Mexico boarder. I spent some time down there a few years ago. Average temperature from June thru September is above 100 deg. F., with summer days often 110 + deg. F.

I doubt those cars had A/C. Whew!!!!
