2 sizes of top prop nuts??

Post by Angmar » Mon Apr 06, 2020 9:51 pm

Would anyone know the correct size of the prop nut outer diameter? My 18 has 2 sizes. These are the rounded fasteners that hold the top bows on to the socket arm on each side of the car.

thank you in advance.

I believe they are 11/2" for all years, and the same thread. Other makes used similar nuts. I have some that look like Ford nuts but have a smaller thread.

There were many manufacturers of those prop nuts. It's important to make sure what you buy has the correct threads.

Yep, Larry, you're correct ;)

Lots of mfg. made these prop nuts and the locking tabs or nut locks too. Goes back to buggy days....
