26-27 Coupe top wood drawings

Post by myersair » Fri Apr 17, 2020 4:17 pm

I'm in the process of restoring a 1926 Coupe and all the top (roof) wood is missing. I'm wondering if anyone has a drawing showing the layout and dimensions. Any help would be appreciated.

Check out: www.fordwood.com. You can buy a roof kit or, if you want to build it yourself, you can enlarge the schematic for a ‘26 coupe to determine the way it was constructed and use your car to derive the proper measurements for the frame and slats. Jim Patrick

Don,

This is perfect....exactly what I was looking for. This will make it so much easier and will take all the guess work out of it. I can't wait for the weekend so I can get in the shop and start working on this!

Thanks to everyone for all the help with this.

I hope it helps …. If I could just add one thing? The coupes I worked on almost all had to have the top pulled forward. The weight of the doors takes a toll and top helps hold the body shape. So I learned to check the door fitment before bolting the top wood down. It doesn't take much for the doors to sag.
