1915 runabout restoration first test drive

Post by NealW » Sat Apr 18, 2020 8:48 pm

After 13 months of work, I finished the frame up restoration on our 1915 runabout today! I can't say that I did it all myself. Mike Bender rebuilt the engine and rear axle, Stutzman did the wheels, and Erik Larson rebuilt the coils and Classtique made the upholstery and top kit. It was a fun project and I learned a lot of new skills. I am also thankful that we have great parts suppliers and part makers such as Langs, Snyder's, Bob's and Chaffin's.

I have to say that I am most thankful for a wonderful wife who was supportive of me doing this project, when we already have a perfectly good 21 touring in the garage! She went along on the first drive today.

Beautiful work Neal. It makes it all worth while doesn't it?
I second the thanks to supportive wives. They make it much easier.
Good to see it. Have fun.
Rich
When did I do that?

A year and a month for a project like that is pretty quick. Looks swell, and you've finished just as the weather is getting good for driving an open car. Time for some Model T camping. :D
