This tool is marked “Truth”. It came with a Truth “model T front bearing race press” I purchased. It looks like it’s for a bearing race because of the taper but the bearing race would be close to 3” in diameter. The 2 pieces on the one end are spring loaded and can both be pushed into the diameter of the shaft.

Your tool was made by Truth Tool Company in Mankato, Minnesota. I have a 1934 catalog, but it does not show your tool.

It appears to be for removing drive shaft bushing.

Ahh....that makes sense. I couldn’t picture in m mind what this would be for. Thank you, I think you are right!

Appears to be just that - close resemblance to a Stevens d.s. bushing remover.

This tool looks like it is for installing front wheel taper bearing cones into hubs. Dimensions would help in the analysis.
The race is fitted onto the tapered bush, the part with the hinge goes through the hub and expands to hold the inner side of the hub, then the race is pushed in by tightening the nut?
Other uses may well be found.

I picked both of these at the same time. I know the one is for pressing the wheel bearing races in place into the front hubs. I think those who said the first tool is for drive shaft bushing removal are on to something. The cone fits into the U-joint ball real well. Thank everyone

That bearing cone press is an actual Ford "Z" tool - quite rare and quite useful. That's only the 3rd one I've seen !
