Rim spreader. Google "MTFCA rim spreader".

Used to collapses/expand the 21" split rims (Ford in this case, other car makes may have used different size rims/wheels), so the tire could be removed or installed.

Considering the few years split rims were used, I'm a bit surprised at how many spreaders are around. I bought one at an auction for $1. Nobody else knew what it was.

When you consider that: A they are a tool and maybe were stored better and saved after the car/truck was gone. B how many makes of cars used the split rims like Ford GM etc. The rim tool might have a better survival rate then the cars they were bought for. The one I have was made for larger split rims and will "just" work on the 21inch ones.
