Show me your TT beds!

So I finally got my 1918 TT running! Next step is to build a bed for it. I need some ideas. Mine has an original wood cab in good condition, and came with a set of fenders. My initial idea is to build a wooden homebrew flat bed/stake bed for everyday use here on the farm, haul hay, feed horses and cattle, etc. We currently feed am and pm with a pair of golf carts pulling small hay trailers. This TT would replace one of those golf carts during fair weather to make feeding more "fun", so this bed wouldn't be show quality, just look period correct yet functional. Then in the future build a fire truck style bed or tanker incorporating the original fenders (hood has WVFD paint still visible). Both beds would then be swapped around as needed. Looking for woodworking plans, pictures, hardware, and info on how the beds are attached to the frame. So show me your TT beds, homebrew or original!

This is a really old photo (circa 11955) but it shows the bed on what's now my TT. At that time it was in use as a ranch truck and we did all manner of work with it. If you're interested, the fellow on the left is my grandfather and the boy on the right is my cousin.

The bed surface area measures 5' wide X 8' long. It's all made of oak with metal runners. It's the original bed installed when the running TT chassis was new. It's still on the truck and perfectly serviceable.

Some good looking beds out there! So many ideas. If you built your bed where did you find the hardware for it? Did you have to find originals and repaint them, make your own, or does somebody sell reproduction hardware?

Also how did you attach your bed to your frame? I can see from the sides most have U-bolts closer to the cab, but how did you secure it over the rear axle? Pictures of the attachment points underneath appreciated.

Thanks

Depending on what you are building, sometimes you might be lucky enough to find old wagon bed hardware. Most of it is blacksmith made and has a good "early" look. Be mindful to use correct or correct looking hardware. Square nuts, grind or turn off the grade marks from bolt heads and NO PHILLIPS SCREWS. Look at as many examples as you can. Have fun!
