My breaks on my caw are worned, Ken I use mouldered linings as a repalacement for me breaks, or dew I kneed to half woeven breaks lininerings for mye breaks...

(Sorry for the spelling, but after 3 posts like this, I had to answer in kind....)

Should I use molded linings or try to find old school woven linings?

Outside or parking brakes? The outside brakes I have on mine are semi-soft (or I guess could call it semi-hard) lining and seem to be ok. If I was going to replace I would go with the same material if I could find it or the woven with the brass wire running thru it.

Suzanne- contact Moose Motors in Pengrove- they have stock of old woven lining and can reline your bands.

Looks like Suzanne went to the same school that one-time forum poster, "Hurk" went to, to learn spellin.

I dun wint and fergettid about ole Hurk... He spelt like a reel edumacated man!

Ya know, my inlaws were from Texas, and before that, Virginia... my brother moved to Nor'Carolina a decade or so ago and he's never been happier... My kid sister moved with her now ex (rip) to Alabama (but also ended up back here in Califunny)... the funny thing is, the "rural" accent from where we now live here in the hills (I call it the "original 49er" accent) sounds a LOT like rural Arkansan or maybe east Texan...

Guess'n I gots my projikts set out afore me now...

I just figured Susanne has a case of Coronaquarantineitis!!

We have a place in L.A. called friction materials. They are ok, but I would like to know if a softer lining is available? For the steel brake drums, I don't think the harder lining works a well. I'm talking Rocky Mountain brakes.
