Model T Times article, “Before Ford vs. Ferrari”
Natalie Weaver, editor and photographer for the Model T Times, helped me put the following article together, and it ran in last months T Times issue. This article is part one of two covering Henry Ford’s last, and arguably best pre world one racing efforts.
In a nutshell, Henry Ford approached his lead designer (and key Model T developer) Joe Galamb, and told him to build a racer to look like a Model T, and beat the fastest car in the world, the Blitzen Benz. Naturally, he chose his primary driver, Frank Kulick, to drive the racer(s). I hope you enjoy:

This is a great set of articles and I enjoyed them thoroughly. Many thanks to you and Natalie/
One question about the cover: How did you do that bit of photoshopping? It's a black and white picture, EXCEPT:
1. The Ford's hub caps, wheel spider, radiator, and ignition switch are brass;
2. The Ford's floorboard, and the sides of the thingies that hold up the gas tank, are brown.
Neat trick!

Rob, as always well researched and exciting read! Bravo.
A question I had as reading this...
These racers were taken around the country to the various races. How did they get there? By railroad to the closest depot and then driven to the track? I would assume this time period was too early for a truck to carry. Call me crazy, but seeing these racers loaded on their transport would be just as exciting as the racing photos for me. I'm such a logistics nut.
Thank you,
Andy

I want to see the Ferrari. Is it red?
