Dean,that round thing on the bench in front of the stove tells me you are on the right track!

Allan, When I babbitt rods I start with cores that weigh +- 10 grams with the babbitt wiped out. After poring the sprue is removed and bore to 1.2 inch then weigh again. This makes it easier to get a balanced set.

Way to go Dean. I don't do my own babbit work, but I do select a set of rods of es near as possible the same weight to send off for work. Makes sense to get things as close as possible to give a good start.
