Seeking some input on the wire metal clips that you attach to the door and side panels to secure to body. Is it recommended to lubricate them for installation into the body metal? The clips came with the interior kit and I have not had much luck on insertion in to the body metal. I have achieved a nice blood blister under my thumb nail though. I'm reaching a point of just screwing the panels to the body metal.

Per the picture they like to deform during installation. The one on the right is new and the one on the left was a attempted installation in which I had positioned it in the hole. I have not looked at plastic type yet, but I'm leaning in that direction.

No lube, make sure they are lined up with the hole in the door and wack the panel with a rubber mallet directly on the clip. Your bent clip is what they look like when both ends are not lined up with the hole, one end went in and the other missed and got bent.

Thanks for the reply about no lube, I had to ask. I have had some success on one door panel by using a small block of wood over the clip and hitting it with a rubber mallet.

Take care and thanks for response.

Never had to use them for a Model T, but in my previous life as a Mopar guy I preferred these clips to the wire ones. :)
