Question on generator

My car shows no charge when running will discharge when you turn the lights on before you ask I've tried two different generators two different cutouts the gauge is new and all new wiring I went over all the wiring three different times and it is correct according to the diagram this is the third one that I've wired and never had this problem any ideas

Can you verify any "output" on either generator ? Normally, if one bench tests the generator with the 3rd brush up, it should motor which "most of the time", will generate power. Ron Patterson is the guy to answer ALL generator questions !

Having said "wiring is correct according to the diagram" but you didn't say that you checked continuity of the wire from the cutout to the ammeter. Its doubtful that its a generator or cutout issue since you have tried different ones

Found the problem after help from Ron Patterson checked out the wiring it was okay so on to the generator that was it just installed a rebuilt one ready to go now thanks for all the help MTFCA Charlie
