Calimer's Wheel Shop

Post by SteveTN » Sat Jun 13, 2020 9:54 pm

I just got my fourth wheel back from them. I've been rotating through the set for a good long while now and finally got all four done. The delay was on me...I just piddled around.

Superb work. I cannot say enough good things about it. I asked for clear hickory because I wanted to leave them unpainted and they are simply beautiful. They are all just works of total perfection.

So for what it is worth. Highly recommended.

Agree Steve. Calimer's did the wheels for my 26 and I did the natural finish also. He does great work.

Steve,
Glad you're happy. My only problem when I contacted them was they told me there was an 8 month backlog, so I went to someone else. Did you have any problems with wait-time?

Bill does excellent work, and it is fun to visit his shop. Looks like a movie set. The wait was 6 months but was worth it. Cheers, Bill

I am also very happy with the results. Had all four of my 26TT wheels done. I took about 7 months.

Another happy customer. He is a total craftsman. Years ago when I visited he was having a tough time finding someone willing to learn the trade. Hope he did.

I had 2 sets done in 1985 and one set in 2002. They are still like new after lots of miles. I tighten the hub nuts occasionally.

When did I do that?

I wouldn't consider any one else. I had a demountable wheel he was able of work in with someone else 's order, so the wait wasn't long at all. A great company to deal with.

Another happy customer. Bill did four 27 wheels for me a few years ago. Natural finish and they look great. I dropped them off to him at Hershey in Oct and picked them up at his shop in January. Great guy and terrific work
