Hi all. Sorry, I hardly ever post on here.
Last week I took a trip with my better half around the perimeter of the lower Michigan peninsula. We started in Mt Clemens and drove up the east side of the state, around the thumb and up to Oscoda tacking in 300 miles. Day 2 we drove to Mackinaw City which is the most northern town in the lower peninsula. Day 3 we went across the Mackinaw bridge to go to the upper peninsula in the morning and to visit the local Napa for some more oil and grease. We continued on to Traverse City and drove on M119 which is known as the Tunnel of Trees.... that is a really fun drive with the top down. Day 4 we stayed in Traverse City and drove up the old Mission Peninsula on M37.

Day 5 we left Traverse City and drove up the Leelanau Peninsula and then continued south down the west coast of Michigan on Rt 22. We made it to Manistee and started heading east because a storm was coming in. We were able to stay just ahead of the storm until we started heading south through the Huron-Manistee Nationa Forest... that is where the storm hit hard putting trees on the roadway. The model T was able to maneuver through the mess while the modern cars were stuck waiting for trees to be cleared. The rain cleared up and the fish flys were out and we drove through what had so been a swarm of thousands of the dang flies. The windshield was covered in fly guys and I was taking handfuls out the car. I am sure glad we had the windshield folded up or else we would have had quite the intake of protein that day.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. Great inspiration. Properly prepared and maintained you can go most anywhere.

Hey Seamus!! Good to see you and your friend had such a great trip. I love the U.P. of Michigan and the bridge. Such a beautiful place. Taking the T over it is on my bucket list...who knows when! I'm assuming you're either on vacation, or the Museum is down for the virus?? Either way, great to see you're out and about and healthy!! Text or call me some day!! Got some stories to tell!

What a great trip in a T. We made about the same trip on the Harley a few years ago. Camped along the way. What fun.
