The 21st is my 88th birthday. I have a fun day planned. I am healthy and active. And will take a day off from my usual activiities. On Monday, I am changing the field coil on my 1910, but today will seek out other fun things.

My dad's birthday is near yours...he has you beat by a year and a couple months. He stays busy, too. A trait that I hope to emulate.

Darel, you are the most spirited car person I know! Sure do miss seeing you and LaVernna at the swap meets this year.......and the Afton 4th of July parade is canceled . Well, my wife is now on the board of the historical society so maybe we could make you and LaVernna grand Marshall’s next year!?! Anyway, a most Happy Birthday from Diane and Jeff P.

Happy belated birthday Darel.

Thanks to everyone who posted such nice messages. I had a good time. This morning I installed a new field coil on my 1910 engine. The coil is one done by Mark Fleishaker.(SP?) Around 1960, I replaced the original transmission and field coil for a nice cica 1917 engine. The trans is really still nice. Tiny Larson rebushed it in about 1964 when he helped rebuild the 10 engine. It has the nice original head, trans cover and one piece pan.The block was cast in Feb 1910 and the car assembled on May 8th. I have owned in since Sept. 25, 1946.
